Spring in Chicago brings a welcome shift in the air. The riverwalk begins to buzz again, patios reopen, and the city slowly returns to outdoor life after winter. One of the most relaxing ways to celebrate the season is with Spring Afternoon Tea at LondonHouse Chicago, served in the hotel’s iconic Bridges lobby overlooking the Chicago River.
Running March 30 through May 3, 2026, our afternoon tea service captures the flavors, colors, and traditions of spring through a thoughtful menu created by LondonHouse’s culinary team.
The 2026 Spring Tea menu blends fresh seasonal ingredients with playful nods to springtime celebrations. Guests can expect a balance of savory bites, delicate pastries, and house-made baked goods.
No traditional afternoon tea is complete without a pastry basket. At LondonHouse, tea service begins with freshly baked selections including Rhubarb Scones, Orange Poppy Seed Scones, Morning Glory Muffins, and Strawberry Thumbprint Cookies, served with strawberry chamomile preserves, lemon curd, and clotted cream.
Savory selections, developed by Executive Chef Liz Sweeney, highlight bright produce and globally inspired flavors. Dishes include items like Spring Vegetable Quiche with red bell pepper, broccoli, zucchini, and Barber’s English Cheddar, Asparagus and Radish Tartine with green butter, and a Chicken Tikka Masala Samosa served with cucumber yogurt sauce.
Spring’s pastel colors and floral notes appear throughout the dessert selection, with standout creations including Lavender Macarons with lavender buttercream, Carrot Cake Donuts with vanilla bean glaze and carrot streusel, and the playful Egg Cup dessert filled with white chocolate mousse and tropical crispearls.
Together, these sweet and savory offerings create a refined yet approachable tasting experience.

Tea is, of course, the heart of the experience. LondonHouse partners with Rare Tea Cellar, a Chicago-based tea curator known for sourcing exceptional teas from around the world.
Guests can choose from a wide range of blends, including black teas like Wild Berry Noir and Crema Earl Grey, green teas such as Sakura Cherry Blossom and Emperor’s Dragonwell Wild Rose, and herbal infusions like Chamomile, Berry Meritage, and Tropical Spiced Clementine.
If you’re looking for things to do in Chicago this spring, Spring Afternoon Tea at LondonHouse is an experience that blends tradition, seasonal cuisine, and one of the city’s most recognizable architectural settings.
Located in the historic London Guarantee Building at the corner of Michigan Avenue and Wacker Drive, LondonHouse offers sweeping views of the Chicago River and surrounding skyline. The setting alone makes tea here feel like a classic Chicago moment.
Whether you’re celebrating Easter season, planning a weekend outing with friends, hosting visiting family, or simply looking for a relaxing afternoon in the city, Spring Tea is a memorable way to welcome the season.
